We are now a Krix Certified Home Cinema Designer

In line with our practice’s strategic partnership with Smart Home and Home Cinema specialist, ‘Electronic Living’ to deliver turn key Home Cinema packages, our Director Nathan Hildebrandt flew to Adelaide to attend Krix’s two day dealer training workshop on Immersive Audio Design for Home Cinemas.

The workshop started with a tour of Krix's manufacturing facilities and test theatre spaces, where we got to see speakers being assembled and tested, then got to experience them perform in real life.

The workshop included a theoretical lecture and quiz based on CEDIA's RP22 - 'Immersive Audio Design Recommended Practice'. This standard is a comprehensive document covers 21 different design parameters that need to be achieved, to obtain one of the four overall performance levels for each seat and for the overall room itself.

To close out the workshop there was a practical test involving the design of a home cinema and the layout of the speakers, in response to a potential client brief. Nathan had to model up a home cinema, position the listeners, and speakers in accordance with RP22 recommendations.
