Richard Choy is the CEO of NATSPEC, a national not-for-profit organisation owned by Government and industry including AMCA, which has the objective to improve the construction quality and productivity of the sustainable built environment through leadership of information. Digital information, including 3D modelling and BIM, will provide improved methods of design, construction and communication for the industry.  NATSPEC is responsible for the National BIM Guide and associated documents.  NATSPEC’s latest release is the BIM Object Properties Generator enabling BIM Standardisation.

Richard has extensive design and on-site experience and has worked within both engineering and architecture.  He has written and presented on numerous design and documentation subjects.  Richard was a member of the AMCA BIM Steering Committee that founded BIM MEPAUS.  He also sat on the BIM Committees for the Australian Institute of Architects, Consult Australia, and the government digital working group BEIIC.  He currently sits on the executive of the Australasian BIM Advisory Board; is a member of the Australian Building Codes Board, and is President of the International Construction Information Society.
